Variety: UTA Marketing Ups Sundance Game With Private Residence, Programming

Talent agency hospitality is a mainstay at the Sundance Film Festival, be it in swanky lounges on Park City’s Main Street or private chalets in nearby Deer Valley.

United Talent Agency, whose talent roster and independent film group always come in force each year, typically throws a brunch for friends and press — but will significantly expand its footprint this year, in the form of a private residence with several days of programming.

Clients and guests of UTA Marketing — which reps global brands including Cover Girl, Delta Air Lines, Google, and Lyft — will be invited to a private residence tucked away the center of festival madness for key events and refuge from the snow.

Issa Rae, repped by the agency, will throw a party in honor of creators of color in conjunction with UTA’s own head of diversity and inclusion, Shanique Bonelli-Moore. Women in Film will hold its annual Sundance panel and reception at the space, with speakers including director Haifaa al-Mansour, Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden, actor and producer Emily Mortimer, Macro executive Poppy Hanks, and producer Effie Brown.

UTA Fine Arts will share a special pop-up exhibition of the artwork of Kwame Brathwaite and host an intimate conversation with Brathwaite’s son, Kwame S. Brathwaite, and writer and critic Antwaun Sargent. Harlem Field Trip chef JJ Johnson and Lyft social impact head Mike Masserman discuss food accessibility and inequality.  Hollywood’s favorite Italian spot, Jon & Vinny’s, will cater dinners to celebrate “Six Feet Under” creator Alan Ball’s new film “Uncle Frank,” and the department will host a brand leaders dinner with the Atlantic, Snap and Tastemade.  A surprise performer from UTA’s music roster will also go up for a late-night set.

“Sundance is more than a film festival, but a destination that brings together a diverse set of independent voices and storytellers across the spectrum of culture,” said UTA Marketing co-head Julian Jacobs.

“We are excited to unite so many clients and partners for what has become a key moment on the cultural calendar,” said fellow co-head David Anderson.

Sundance kicks off on Thursday.

SnowFest Returns to Park City Live with The Palms and Last Call

PARK CITY, Utah (November 12, 2018) – Centered at the 50-yard line of Main Street, Park City Live (PCL) was, once again, the pulse during this year’s Film Festival bringing the best in entertainment to Hollywood’s elite. Palms Casino Resort teamed up with Park City Live on Friday, January 25, Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27 to present SnowFest 2019. In the midst of a $690M renovation that includes a state-of-the-art nightclub and dayclub, Palms collaborated with PCL to bring A-list performers, G-Eazy (January 25) Marshmello (January 26) and Above & Beyond (January 27) to kick off week one of the festival. Mirrored Media was Park City Live’s official production partner throughout the first weekend of the film festival.

PCL featured headlining artists, Diplo (January 24), followed by rap sensation Machine Gun Kelly (January 28), ZHU (January 31) and number one DJ in the world, Martin Garrix (February 1).



LAST CALL partnered with Park City Live, to create a LAST CALL lounge where guests could hangout and enjoy the hangover prevention drink. LAST CALL contains a combination of vitamins, plant extracts and electrolytes to help the body recover and replenish quickly. The Palms recently announced KAOS Dayclub & Nightclub which will consist of a fully integrated 73,000 square foot dayclub and 29,000 square foot nightclub and feature exclusive residencies with world-renowned musical artists including Above & Beyond, Cardi B, G-EAZY, Kaskade and Skrillex, opening early April 2019 as part of the ongoing $690M renovation.

When turning PCL into Kaos, we had extensive signage including full bar wraps, mezzanine wraps, stage signage, gobos, Lightbox entry signage, artist greenroom step and repeat, custom pillows for the tables, hanging 3d logos, and a custom immersive neon step and repeat Photo Booth.

Brody Jenner stopped by the first night of the collaboration which continued throughout the weekend with performances by Marshmello on January 26 and Above & Beyond on January 27.

Sundance Film Festival 2018 – Park City Live Activations

For the second year in a row, Mirrored Media teamed up with Fingerprint Communications for a full takeover of Park City Live during Sundance Film Festival. Celebrities, influencers, and special guests were invited to escape the cold and snow of Park City’s Main Street and experience a host of thought-provoking panels and activations.

Each of the six sponsors provided a much-needed respite to the hustle and bustle of Sundance in a warm and comfortable setting in the heart of Park City. They were all featured prominently on the branded step and repeat photo opportunity located at the venue entrance.

The three days of activations attracted a number of high-profile talent, including:

  • Nicolas Cage
  • will.i.am & Taboo of The Black Eyed Peas
  • Paris Jackson
  • Elijah Wood

Sponsor activations included:

Juul: Designed to improve the lives of the world’s estimated 1 billion smokers, this brand’s e-cig and vape alternative invited guests to relax in a carpeted lounge with cozy white furniture and chic decor. The brand name was displayed with life-sized backlit letters in this sophisticated lounge. Brand ambassadors were on hand to provide guests with more information.

For VIPs and talent, Juul had an upstairs lounge that provided a more exclusive experience and gifting suite. VIPs could even choose to have their samples custom-engraved on site.

JetSmarter: This members-only private jet charter service delivered the same luxurious VIP experience found on their planes in their comfortable lounge inside Park City Live. The carpeted space included high-end furniture, TVs displaying branded content, custom signage, elegant decor, and two JetSmarter brand reps available to help provide more information about this smarter, more cost-effective alternative to private jet travel. Guests were offered discount codes, branded bags and hats, and could even sign up on site via two iPad stations.

SmashMallow: Billed as America’s first snackable marshmallows, SmashMallow provided the perfect remedy to the frigid Utah temperatures: hot chocolate. Guests were invited to sip on fresh hot chocolate accompanied by one of the signature marshmallow flavors, including mocha chip, mint chocolate chip, cinnamon churro, and strawberry cream. These delicious treats could be dropped into their hot beverage or enjoyed on their own. Guests could also walk away with free SmashMallow t-shirts and hats.

Nomatic: This unique brand of functional, versatile, and high-quality bags was on hand to provide product giveaways to select VIPs throughout the weekend. Launched after a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, Nomatic’s line of bags has become a trendy and fashionable high-end accessory.

Creminelli Meats: Salt Lake City-based Creminelli Fine Meats was on hand providing pre-packaged samples of some of its artisan meats. Selections of crackers, cheese, and several kinds of meats were available for guests to grab in a convenient package from branded refrigerators.

Enso Rings: These silicon rings were born out of an idea seen on the hit show, Shark Tank. Stationed just inside the front doors of Park City Live, Enso Rings provided guests with a fitted ring of their choice. Made of silicon instead of metal, these rings are a more comfortable and practical alternative to traditional rings.

Park City Live Presents The Hub at Sundance 2017

The Hub

At the 2017 edition of Sundance Film Festival, The Hub at Park City Live was the talk of Main Street for VIP guests and celebrities alike. Produced by Mirrored Media in partnership with Fingerprint Communications, The Hub featured a wide array of brands and activations over the long weekend, including Splenda, the Consumer Technology Association, AwesomenessTV, 361, Cool Effect, Tanqueray, Twitter, Movie Pilot, musical.ly, Marie Claire, and Spotify. 

The convenient location of Park City Live allowed festival VIPs and celebrities to stop in for a brief respite from the snowy bustle of Main Street. Guests in attendance included Chelsea Handler, Charlize Theron, Mary McCormack, Bebe Rexha, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Aisha Tyler, Kate Micucci, Brock O’Hurn, Teresa Palmer, Max Riemelt, Olivia Culpo, and more.

Each brand delivered a unique guest experience for both daytime activations and nighttime events:

The Consumer Technology Association featured nine 4K UHD TVs throughout the venue. Each one looped exclusive 4K content to showcase the visually stunning detail and clarity of 4K technology. CTA hosted a reception for one of the Sundance films shot in 4K UHD, Chasing Coral, which was picked up by Netlfix after its premiere at the festival. 

Splenda warmed up guests with a branded coffee bar and gifting suite. It featured a chance for attendees to sip on their coffee, sweetened with Splenda, in a relaxing casual setting with tables, chairs, and succulents. Guests were served by Splenda baristas who also handed out brand giveaways from the custom-built and custom-wrapper coffee bar.

AwesomenessTV sponsored one of the highlights of Sundance, a performance by Grammy-winning DJ Tiesto at Park City Live. Their custom-built rose wall step and repeat was featured in the front lobby along with custom signage throughout the venue promoting Awesomeness Films’ newest title, Before I Fall

Spotify was the lead sponsor of Major Lazer’s Park City Live performance, another Sundance highlight. There was Spotify branding throughout the venue’s upstairs SkyBar during the show, providing a VIP viewing experience for special guests.

Tanqueray offered guests specially-made “Moon Juices” from their Gin & Juice Bar, served by bartenders in branded attire. The bar was custom-wrapped and featured boxes of fruit, a pull-up banner, and branded signage. Tanqueray was also the lead sponsor for Park City Live’s Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick.

Twitter and Movie Pilot co-sponsored an exclusive interview lounge for actors and social media influencers. This Live Lounge presented fans with the opportunity to chat live with their favorite stars as they made their way through the space. It also featured the famous Twitter Mirror, from which celebs posted selfies and unfiltered content. 

musical.ly hosted artists and musicians to its What’s Trending interview lounge, with cozy couches, chairs, and custom signage. Hosts and guests broadcasted direct to fans through the live.ly platform throughout the week. 

Cool Effect presented an educational climate change photo opp with a custom step and repeat, inflatable Earth, and melting snowmen brand ambassadors. These BAs were there to educate people and engage in conversation on the important topic of climate change. 

361 Degrees presented its own branded gifting suite, offering VIPs exclusive merchandise and giveaways. Brand ambassadors touted 361’s popular “Sheepa” campaign in their giveaways. This sheep-cheetah hybrid highlights the soft and fast qualities of the product. 

Marie Claire also had a prominent showing at The Hub. They had a branded interview and photo backdrop featuring some of the biggest females in entertainment lending their voice in support of female empowerment.
